About Me

It all started in Wales…well…kind of.

Wandering Wales started as a study abroad blog for Dana Armstrong’s Spring 2020 exchange in Cardiff, Wales. That was, of course, before the world spiraled into pandemic and a rightfully renewed call for social justice. Now, Wandering Wales focuses on Dana’s past travel stories and the lesser known histories of oppression that are often left out of the conventional travel blog.

Dana Armstrong is a journalism major and dance minor at the College of William & Mary. She is the Editor in Chief of her campus’s culture and lifestyle magazine, the DoG Street Journal (DSJ); a tap teacher for Rhythm & Taps club; a dancer and choreographer of Pointe Blank Dance Company; and a member of W&M’s Equality Lab.

Her writing typically focuses on the arts, travel, representation, and intersectional feminism through pop culture. The DSJ has featured many of her articles covering everything from The Bachelor & the #MeToo movement to W&M’s LGBTQ+ history.

She’s lived in Virginia all of her life, but has uprooted to study abroad in Cardiff, Wales for the spring 2020 semester. Follow along on her Welsh, English, European, and North American adventures by checking in on this blog.
